There are 20 some cafes on this 20-kilometer Cafe Road. We think that the scenery here is the main selling point.

Due to the higher elevation, we came across the mountain mist floating from the seaside. The view was quite delightful. We ordered Latte and the local Dong-shan Coffee. The aroma was very special.

Continuing on to county road after leaving Gan-yuan Cafe, you'll arrive at Fu-you Temple. Make a right turn to go downhill. You can head toward Jing-liao once you get back to the ground via Dong-yuan Village.
離開柑園咖啡繼續往公路上走，遇到孚佑宮右轉下山，可以經由東原里回到平地，前往菁寮。

Happy Rice Village

無米樂小農村

Jing-liao is perhaps the most famous village in Taiwan due to the movie Happy Rice. The movie scenes taken place here documented the difficult times the Taiwanese farmers and agriculture faced. These farmhouses and farm fields became a tourist attraction.
菁寮可能是台灣最有名的小農村，因為電影「無米樂」，以這裡為場景，講台灣老農和農業的困境。農村房屋和農田，變成觀光景點。

From Provincial Highway One, turn left onto Municipal Road 82. You'll arrive at the main entrance to the village once you pass a highway culvert. It may come as a surprise that there is a church designed by an architect in this small southern village.
從台一線往北，左轉南82市道，走過高速公路涵洞，就進入村子主要的入口，你會驚訝發現在這個南部小村，竟然會有建築大師設計的教堂。

This is the work of German architect Gottfried Bohm. It was his very first architectural work overseas. The silvery pyramid contrasts with the traditionally simple and unadorned brick farmhouses in Taiwan.

Across from the church is the Wu-mi-le Rice Cafe remodeled from the office of Irrigation Association. This rice cafe sells Grade A Rice produced from Jing-liao, snacks and drinks.
教堂對面，水利會辦公室改裝的「無米樂」米食館。這個米食館，販售菁寮出產的優質好米，也有點心和飲料。

You can get some snacks like the peanut milk and green bean soup that we ordered. Immerse yourself in the rural village atmosphere. Sit inside the tatami room and look outside the window to admire the church roof, or enjoy the food under the trees in the backyard!
